REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum 3-year experience working as a mechanic in the food industry environment or similar.

2. High School education or the equivalent

3. Demonstrated work experience in a team environment

4. Demonstrate a high level of mechanical skills and knowledge

5. Demonstrated ability to learn and use custom equipment and assist in installations

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

7. Initiative to work independently

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs preventative maintenance on wide variety of packaging and processing equipment

2. Specifies parts required. Orders if needed, and makes needed repairs based on PM

3. Assists with training new and/or less skilled maintenance and production personnel

4. Troubleshoots basic electrical problems using various test equipment and ladder logic diagrams

5. Troubleshoots mechanical problems using various measurement equipment and mechanical expertise

6. Devises, plans, and completes mechanical upgrades, modifications and overhauls

7. Completes changeovers on production lines by following changeover check sheet and recommends modification to the sheet as needed

8. Performs routine daily setup and adjustment of all production equipment

PERFERRED:

1. Ability to speak both English and Spanish

2. Experience with Bartlets machines and cartoners or other horizontal pouch fill machines

3. Experience in Food Industrial Environment and Good Manufacturing Practices

MUST BE ABLE TO:

1. Lift, carry or move light/heavy loads up to 50lbs

2. Ability to perform duties in extreme varying temperatures

3. Crawl over, under and into equipment as necessary to perform job duties

4. Work weekends when plant enters busy season and when needed

5. Work on floors that are slippery due to water, gelatin, or dust accumulation

6. Work on electrical equipment in a safe and responsible manner

Base pay range starting at $26.95 per hour; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, and level of experience.
