Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • DNA, RNA, and single cell sequencing and analysis

  • Tissue and organoid culture

  • FACS analysis and sorting

  • Cellular biological experiments

  • Molecular biological experiments

  • Planning experiments

  • Analyzing and interpreting data

  • Troubleshooting experiments

  • Summarizing data for a weekly discussion, lab meeting, or a national/international conference

  • Transfection or knockdown/knockout of genes, generation of stable clones.

  • Performing experiments, record-keeping, analyzing and reporting data

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

  • Senior: Two (2) years' professional level research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

  • Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory

  • Able to design and execute controlled experiments independently

  • Prior successful experiences working with a wide range of molecular or cell biology techniques

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong work ethic and excellent team communication skills

  • Able to keep detailed documentation and meet deadlines for experiments and literature research

  • Reliable organizational skills

  • Able to work independently and efficiently, as well as in a team setting

  • Basic computer software skills, and the ability to learn new software programs

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Services Senior Professional to join the Klein Lab, part of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The main emphasis of this position will be working in the research areas of genomics, cancer biology, and patient-derived organoids.
