Tandem Tractor Trailer Operator

Duties: Oversee loading/unloading of goods at designated spots according to written instructions and ensure balanced distribution of load. Adjusts load to meet prescribed wheel/axle load limits. Verifies goods loaded/unloaded against shipping documents. Hitches trailer to tractor/connects hoses and lines for breaking/lighting systems. Ensures tractor/trailer are maintained in accordance with recommendations. Maintains daily log book of hours driven each day, stops made, time off for lunch/non-driving time.

Qualifications: Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid licenses to operate a Class A motor vehicle in NYS. May also be required to obtain and maintain any driver's license endorsement required under the NYS Department of Transportation's regulations for the transportation of specific types of products in the course of their normal duties (i.e., Hazardous Materials Endorsement). Also must obtain a NYS Thruway Authority tandem permit which requires 5 years of verifiable driving experience.
