Team (Project) Introduction

Identity Access Management (IAM) is divided into two business lines: Identify Services and Access Services. The primary services supported are the Master Person Index, Provisioning, Authorization Management Service, Single Sign On Internal/ External, Veteran Health Identification Card, and Compliance Auditing Reporting.

9th Way Insignia is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT) on the Identity and Access Management (IAM). The Senior Technical Writer will work to document, edit, and review deliverables prior to submission to the customer. They will assist in the preparation of presentations and white papers which promote the work the entire team on IAM is engaged in.

Professional Level

The Technical Writer, Senior position aligns as a Level 3 Senior Consultant at 9th Way Insignia. A Senior Consultant completes tasks and projects of moderate scope and complexity. A Senior Consultant exercises the best judgement and problem-solving skills within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action to execute assignments. Senior Consultant will also provide guidance and/or lead on tasks/projects.

Functional Job (LCAT) Information

A Senior Technical Writer/Editor must have experience in editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention. Must have experience in the application a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools. Must have experience in meeting with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation. Must have experience in explaining in simple language scientific and technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand technical concepts related to products, processes, and systems.

``` - Work with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, developers, and quality assurance engineers, to gather information and validate technical content.

``` - Collaborate with localization teams to translate and adapt documentation for international audiences, ensuring linguistic and cultural accuracy.

``` - Maintain document version control, update content as needed for product releases or changes, and manage documentation repositories or knowledge bases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

``` - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.

``` - Proficiency in technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar documentation software.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60,069.60 - $76,330.28
