How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Alumni Engagement and Communications specialist will be responsible for implementing strategic communication plans for Retirees and Alumni. They will take on the role of “Divisional Communicator” for this group and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Communications to convey key messages to Retirees as initiatives or campaigns are rolled out to employees. The Alumni Engagement and Communications specialist will craft and publish print and digital content, respond to questions and inquiries, participate in the day-to-day administration of Retirement and Special Programs and foster positive relationships with Retirees & Alumni.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Executecommunication strategy including ongoing review of existing letters and formsfor updating and republishing

  • Manageand update Deltanet, social media (Sky Hub), and other digital communicationplatforms.

  • Collaboratewith internal teams & external teams (DRC) to align comms strategies forvarious initiatives impacting Retirees & Alumni (divisional communicator)

  • Craftand distribute comms such as newsletters and company announcements

  • Dayto day retirement and pension admin

  • Demonstratesability to review and analyze data, trends and issues to resolve challenges ina timely manner.

  • Partnerswith other escalation partners including AskHR team to determine process andcoordination between resources.

  • Otherduties as assigned.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or 3 + years communications experience.

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail

  • Proficient in Content Management and Social Media engagement

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Creative thinker and storyteller with strong problem-solving skills

  • Solution-oriented, multi-task capable and have demonstrated the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment.

  • Demonstrates initiative and self-directs work and takes full accountability for performance.

  • Must be able to handle highly confidential materials and issues effectively.

  • Must possess ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals across divisional lines and with vendors, including all levels of leadership.

  • Should possess sound organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service skills.

  • Must possess proficiency with PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. SAP or other HCM proficient

  • If internal, must be performing satisfactorily in present position.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Generalknowledge of Delta's HR processes and procedures is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with Retiree programs preferred
