Position Summary:

The Manager, Grants and Outreach will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing a federally sponsored AmeriCorps grant. This role involves collaborating with external governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, and schools to fulfill grant requirements. The Manager will drive the program’s competitiveness by establishing new partnerships and recruiting members through relationship-building and marketing efforts. This position ensures a successful handoff to the Program Manager, who oversees the daily operations of the program.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Design, Plan, and Evaluate AmeriCorps Program
  • Ensure program compliance with grant provisions and requirements

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate program data, completing quarterly performance measurement reports

  • Ensure program activities and member roles align with performance measures and position descriptions

  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the COMCorps program every three years

  • Monitor and assess current performance measures, collaborating with host sites and evaluators

  • Prepare reports to demonstrate program outcomes and impact

  • Write contracts, partner agreements, position descriptions, and policies

  • Provide fiscal oversight and create budget forecasts in collaboration with Executive Director and Community Health Programs ( CHP ) Administrative Specialist

  • Collaborate with Grants Accounting on partner billing and grant fund disbursement

  • Plan and implement 100 hours of member training annually, including assisting with annual orientation activities

  • Assist with member mileage requests, maintain member files, and manage other related tasks as needed

  • Attend ServeOhio trainings sessions

  1. Seeking Funding
  • Write the AmeriCorps grant to ServeOhio annually

  • Seek additional funding and partnership initiatives to sustain and enhance the program’s future, as well as special projects

  1. Recruitment, Marketing, and Partnerships
  • Engage in year-round recruitment efforts to attract potential AmeriCorps members

  • Recruit and orient sites and supervisors to the program

  • Ensure program partnerships are appropriate, well-funded, and bring complementary assets to the COMCorps program

  • Promote the program and it’s members to the community and media through outreach activities and marketing efforts, utilizing physical and social media

  • Represent COMCorps in regional health discussions and committees, communicating with community stakeholders to maintain program support and participate in regional health strategies

  • Engage in activities that support and connect COMCorps to Community Health Programs and the Heritage College community.

  1. Volunteers and Student Engagement
  • Engage the community in AmeriCorps initiatives, including organizing National Day of Service initiatives

  • Enrich Ohio University students from all backgrounds and disciplines with service opportunities in the community, utilizing these volunteer opportunities as a pipeline to COMCorps service

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 year of relevant professional experience

  • 1 year of supervisory experience

  • Valid drivers license

  • Ability to pass an FBI / BCI enhanced background check and the National Service Criminal History Check, in accordance with the organization’s standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Community/Public Health (Certified Health Education Specialist ( CHES ) certification preferred), Public Administration, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience in grant management, National Service, recruitment, marketing, and involvement in health initiatives within the Athens area.

Advertised Salary:

The approved hiring range for this position is $51,281 – $67,947. Offers outside of this range of subject to additional approvals. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position Pay is accompanied by our generous university benefits such as free tuition for self and dependents, a comprehensive insurance package including but not limited to:
