Who will you be working with?

Our best-in-class team at Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty in Astana, Kazakhstan, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) across our operations. You will collaborate with various departments and external organizations to manage and maintain fire safety systems and protocols. You will be a key player in safeguarding our facilities and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Our team values innovation, teamwork, and a commitment to safety, creating a supportive and dynamic work environment.

How will you make a difference?

As Fire Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in protecting our employees and facilities. You will organize and control the execution of contractual agreements with external organizations in areas such as fire alarm system maintenance and industrial safety with emergency services. Your leadership in fire safety audits, training exercises, and reporting to regulatory bodies will ensure our compliance and readiness. By inspecting and certifying fire extinguishers and implementing safety measures, you will directly contribute to our commitment to safety and sustainability.

What do we want to know about you?

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a higher education degree in engineering or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in fire and accident prevention.

You should have excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively under high responsibility and pressure.

Your experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of fire safety systems, industrial safety protocols, and emergency response procedures. Fluency in Kazakh and Russian is mandatory. Knowledge of English is a plus.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Organizing and controlling the execution of contracts with external organizations for fire alarm maintenance and industrial safety.

  • Ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards and coordinating with emergency services.

  • Organizing, conducting, and addressing findings from fire safety audits.

  • Inspecting and certifying various types of fire extinguishers.

  • Organizing and conducting training drills, and reporting to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Committee on Industrial Safety.

  • Collaborating with internal departments and external organizations to maintain high safety standards.

  • Preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory bodies.

  • Leading and participating in safety audits and coordinating audit teams.

  • Supporting initiatives to optimize safety processes and reduce costs.

  • Flexibility to attend external engagements and perform site inspections as needed.
