Summary

This position is a temporary/seasonal position. This position will NOT be eligible for benefits, paid leave time (vacation, sick, holiday) nor participation in the retirement system.

About Our Opportunity

We are currently hiring full-time, seasonal Tennis Support Staff to join the Parks and Recreation Department summer staff. This person will supervise the facility in the absence of the Manager, take in fees, assigns courts, maintains courts, and performs maintenance tasks. They will also assist the Manager in tennis programming.

Work Schedule: Varies daily, between 8 am-10 pm weekdays, some weeknights, some weekends, some holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains crowd control at Center.

  • Accepts court fees.

  • Sells concession items.

  • Assigns courts.

  • Performs maintenance tasks.

  • Assists in tennis programming.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Experience working with the general public.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Cash handling experience.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.

  • Experience in the supervision of a facility preferred.

  • Some knowledge of clay courts preferred.

  • Experience with the sport of a tennis highly preferred.

Candidates with equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Supplemental Information:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the game of tennis.

  • Some knowledge of clay courts.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and the general public.
