Job Description:

Designs server and application architectures; performs administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs. Maintains baseline configurations and performs modification of configuration settings. Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in Systems Engineering functions/roles

  • TS/SCI security clearance; willing to submit to CI/Polygraph after hire

  • CompTIA Security+ required

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert preferred

  • Has experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, and McAfee

  • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering

  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through

  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience

  • Can create effective and clear user manuals; must be able to write and evaluate scripts that contribute to overall systems efficiency

  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work

  • Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications

  • Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $121,680 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
