Ridgeview Medical Center Pharmacist Charge in Arlington, Minnesota

Purpose of Job This position is responsible for the dispensing medications and providing drug information following established standards and practices to ensure proper and safe medication use. Schedule This position is a 0.8 FTE. The schedule is day shift 8am-4pm and no weekends. Current schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday but day off could be flexible. Job Functions 1)Maintains that the pharmacy follows rules set out by the board of pharmacy and other regulatory agencies. 2) Orders and stocks medications in accordance with DEA regulations 3)Assists with policy development and review 4)Works with billing and accounts payable to ensure invoices are paid 5)Maintains that all licenses and variances are up to date for the assigned site. 6)Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. 7)Prepares IV solutions. 8)Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory. 9)Provides information to facility staff on drugs and pharmaceuticals. 10)Writes guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implements hospital regulations. 11)Ensures medicines are stores appropriately and securely. 12)Provides guidance to pharmacy staff. 13)Answers questions about medicines from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public. 14)Performs other duties as assigned. 15) Oversees and runs 340B Program 16) Pharmacist in charge of critical access hospital 17) Provides services to oncology infusion clinic onsite Minimum Education/Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy Pharmacist experience in hospital setting Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to work carefully, methodically and accurately Knowledge of IV admixture, unit doses, computer operation, oncology, nutritional support and kinetic dosing Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above License/Certification Valid Minnesota Pharmacist licensure Link to Employee Health Physical Demands Pharmacist license in state of Minnesota Hospital pharmacy experience Ridgeview Medical Center will not discriminate against or harass any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, military service, veteran status, genetic information, union membership, creed, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, status with regards to public assistance, membership in a local human rights commission, or any other category that may be protected by law.
