Trinity Health RN Specialist - Home Infusion in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Description:

The Infusion Specialist will be a registered nurse responsible for assessing patients and their suitability for the Home Infusion program. The Infusion Specialist will assume responsibility for verifying that appropriate pre-certification documentation is available to ensure reimbursement, quoting rates for therapy within established guidelines, and coordinating care with applicable agencies and the SJMH Home Infusion pharmacy staff. This person will function with a high level of independent judgment, using skills and knowledge acquired through education and customer service expectations to enhance patient care. In addition, the nurse will contribute clinical expertise to organizational planning and decision-making.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of two years experience in Home Infusion as a nursing coordinator, infusion nurse or intake coordinator

Experience with processing referrals for homecare and pre-certification

Licensure:

Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of hospital and medical staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary to effectively deal with various levels of healthcare personnel, external customers and community groups.

Understands Medicare, Medicaid and other third party insurances.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Maintains accurate records.

Demonstrates the initiative to achieve goals and seek opportunities.

Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.

Demonstrates good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Presents and operates in a professional manner which commands respect, reflects a high level of competency, and encourages collegiality.
