Job Summary
The Business Development Manager, Healthcare is responsible for raising the profile of our organization and the MET exam in the domestic and international healthcare sector, and achieving ambitious growth, sales and revenue targets.
Key accountabilities in the USA will include expediting MET recognition among priority state Boards of Nursing (BONs), and acting as the key account manager to these BONs; establishing relationships with and supporting appropriate healthcare agents in the USA (destination agents); and acting as account manager for licensing agencies such as CGFNS and NCSBN. This position will also manage and support domestic healthcare training providers, including Welcome Back Centers (part of the Welcome Back Initiative), language training providers, and other stakeholders, and will ensure availability of the MET exam for these customers in the Prometric test center network. Outside the USA, the Business Development Manager, Healthcare will support efforts to secure government recognition in the healthcare sector in key destination markets. Where the organization has local business development staff, they will work closely with their overseas colleagues, to provide a seamless journey for nurses applying to work in the USA and in other destination countries. In non-represented markets, they will identify and manage relationships with overseas agents (origin agents), and ensure exam availability in market.
Responsibilities*
Achieve sales and revenue targets through developing and managing relationships with healthcare agents in the USA and internationally, together with US review centers and English language and NCLEX training providers (including Welcome Back Centers, and charitable and commercial training organizations). Gain a strong understanding of the needs of these key stakeholder groups, and provide information, training, and support to their staff in order to position MET successfully in the market.
Increase recognition for MET among priority state Boards of Nursing (BONs) and other key stakeholders in the USA. Onboard new recognizing organizations (ROs) in the healthcare sector, and act as the key account manager to these stakeholders, together with licensing agencies such as CGFNS and NCSBN. Analyze and report recognition progress in a CRM system, and identify and implement measures to improve domestic recognition results and achieve targets.
Grow the market for MET for healthcare purposes internationally, developing and managing relationships with agents and other channel partners in markets in which the organization does not have direct representation, and supporting the work of business development staff in markets where the organization has representation. Ensure that healthcare workers applying to work in destination markets choose MET as their preferred English language exam.
Investigate and develop opportunities in other English-speaking destination markets for nurses and other healthcare workers whose first language is not English, and who are applying to work in those countries. Pending government recognition of MET in these countries, develop each market for domestic and inbound healthcare-related English language testing.
Working with domestic and international teams, conduct a needs analysis on a quarterly basis to identify future testing needs among healthcare candidates, and make recommendations on required test center availability among the Prometric network to ensure that demand for seats can be met.
Working in collaboration with the marketing team, develop the value proposition for MET in the international healthcare sector, and support strategic communication and engagement activities to generate sales.
Represent the organization at domestic and international healthcare conferences and events to raise awareness of our brand and services in the sector and increase recognition of our exams. Identify and propose key annual conferences in which to participate, and engage with stakeholders. Propose and deliver presentations. Organize and deliver webinars and other events for different stakeholder groups in the healthcare sector.
Assess and report on the needs and expectations of the different stakeholders in the sector. Work as liaison between external partners and internal teams to propose services, solutions, and improvements to address stakeholder needs and challenges.

Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field
Strong verbal skills, and an excellent presenter, with the ability represent our organization and brand on a domestic and international stage
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Strong stakeholder focus, including good networking and relationship building
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write formal proposals
Competency in standard IT and CRM software packages, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce
Results-driven; able to set and meet targets
Extensive experience working in business development or sales
Experience working with international stakeholders and/or customers
Experience managing complex stakeholder groups
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree in healthcare or health administration
Intercultural competence
Able to manage complex databases
Competency in CRM software analytics and reporting
Budget management
Experience in the assessment, healthcare, or education sectors
Familiar with healthcare policies related to occupational visas for and recruitment of foreign-trained healthcare professionals
Experience working with recruitment agents in the healthcare sector, particularly with international agencies and recruiters
Experience running marketing/recognition campaigns
Successful experience with tenders or grants

Michigan Language Assessment is seeking candidates located in or around Ann Arbor and supports a fully remote work from home schedule with occasionally scheduled in person activities. Suitably qualified candidates outside of the Ann Arbor commuting area may be considered.
