Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Job Description

As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for sanitizing the production equipment and production floor. This role requires using power sprayers and attachments, squeegees, and mops, as well as breaking down and replacing equipment. Understanding requirements to pass swabbing tests is essential.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize production equipment and production floor.

• Operate power sprayers and attachments, squeegees, and mops.

• Break down and replace equipment as needed.

• Understand and adhere to chemical use (dilutions & titration kits) and safe handling procedures.

• Follow food safety standards, GMP, SQF, and HACCP requirements.

• Adhere to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

• Work in a wet environment due to spraying.

• Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally to repetitively.

• Stand for long periods.

• Reach and pull at least 25 lbs.

• Perform frequent bending and use stairs/ladders.

• Work around moving conveyor belts.

Essential Skills

• Experience in a food production facility with sanitation experience (minimum 1 year).

• Knowledge of essential chemical use and safe handling.

• Proficiency in food safety standards, GMP, SQF, and HACCP requirements.

• Ability to follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays when necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work safely.

• Proficient in cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and machines.

• Experience in handling chemicals for sanitation purposes.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced food production facility where employees will be on their feet all day, engaging in repetitive motion tasks. The team consists of 10-12 members, and training will be provided. The facility operates six days a week (Monday to Saturday) with shifts from 9:45 PM to 6:30 AM. The work environment includes a lot of liquid on the floor from vegetable juices, and the facility is regulated by GMP standards requiring hand washing, hair nets, beard nets, and blue smocks. The production involves strong odors from ingredients like pepporcinis, jalapenos, and olives, making the role unsuitable for individuals sensitive to strong smells.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AMERICAN CANYON, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.05 - $23.05/hr.
