Job Description

Responsible for sanitizing production equipment and the production floor using power sprayers, attachments, squeegees, and mops. This role involves breaking down equipment and replacing it, ensuring compliance with swabbing test requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize production equipment and the production floor.

• Operate power sprayers, attachments, squeegees, and mops.

• Break down and replace equipment as necessary.

• Understand and adhere to requirements for passing swabbing tests.

• Lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally or repetitively.

• Stand for long periods.

• Reach and pull up to 25 lbs.

• Frequently bend and use stairs or ladders.

• Work in a wet environment due to spraying activities.

• Work overtime and Saturdays as needed.

• Work on or around conveyor belts.

Essential Skills

• Experience in handling production equipment and chemicals.

• Knowledge of food safety standards, including GMP, SQF, and HACCP requirements.

• Ability to follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays.

• Commitment to safe working practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working in a food production facility with sanitation experience.

Work Environment

This role is in a fast-paced food production facility. Employees will be on their feet all day, performing repetitive motions with their hands. The work involves dealing with a lot of liquids from vegetables, which can splash on the machines and equipment. Employees will work with a team of 10-12 people. The environment is GMP regulated, requiring hand washing, hair nets, beard nets, and BLUE smocks. The facility processes ingredients like pepperoncinis, jalapenos, and olives, resulting in strong odors. Tasks involve standing, walking, bending, stooping, and using hands for various activities. Training on chemical handling will be provided. Shifts currently run Monday through Saturday, from 9:45 PM to 6:30 AM, with potential changes to Monday through Friday during slower periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AMERICAN CANYON, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.05 - $23.05/hr.
