This position is responsible for oversight and management of the Northeast Regions Mobile Equipment and Fleet Vehicle assets. With a strong emphasis on safety and cost effectiveness, the Regional Equipment Manager provides support to the business to maintain and maximize mobile equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

Equipment Lifecycle Management:

  • Maintain life cycle costs, track equipment transfers and keep all records for the Northeast Region.

  • Evaluate & monitor all mobile equipment and maintain Master Replacement Plan for Cement Plants. Perform inspections of operating equipment as needed.

  • Manage Asset disposal for the region.

Fleet Maintenance Management:

  • Organize and coordinate systems to ensure preventative maintenance is done on all equipment on a scheduled basis.

  • Monitor all maintenance work activity.

  • Monitor equipment utilization with emphasis on reliability and cost management.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program, including Mixer and Over the Road Trucks in our fleets.

  • Continually evaluates maintenance facilities for effectiveness and cost savings.

  • Works closely with vendors and suppliers to review and negotiate equipment repairs and replacements.

Maintenance Programs:

  • Manage the regions’ Oil Analysis program.

  • Manage the regions’ Diesel Particulates programs including recommendations for remedies.

  • Assist with leading the integration of maintenance related systems into SAP.

  • Ensure process are in place to minimize operating costs and maximize utilization of labor and materials.

Fleet Vehicle Oversight:

  • Provides oversight to management of the regions’ fleet vehicles.

  • Reviews order recommendations

  • Reviews transfers of vehicles to maximize usefulness.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree preferred. High school diploma required

  • Seven plus years’ experience with heavy equipment and truck maintenance experience required

  • Prior experience managing a vehicle or maintenance repair shop is a plus; heavy equipment preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardizes situations.

  • Commercial driver’s license helpful

  • Excellent computer skills; Prior SAP experience is a plus

  • Solid knowledge of construction equipment

  • Strong negotiating skills

  • Ability to travel to support operations in multiple states and eastern Canada

Work Environment

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment,inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.

  • This position requires the ability to walk distances, walk on rough surfaces, sitting and standing on a regular basis.

  • It requires the ability to climb and work in tight spaces occasionally
