Job Summary The purpose of the Conference Center setup team member is to ensure efficient, effective setup and breakdown of Mark Center conference and training rooms, as well as the Mark Center auditorium. Setup team members may also provide support for the conference center concierge desk, SCIF conference area, business center and joint use pre-function area.

Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Conduct setup and breakdown of meeting and training rooms, auditorium, and all other applicable conference center spaces.

  • Ensure proper handling of all equipment and supplies.

  • Conduct facility site inspections on a monthly basis to ensure condition and maintenance of property.

  • Conduct daily furniture inventory checks.

  • Perform routine morning checks to ensure all lighting is working and cleanliness of the room (trash removed, chairs and tables cleaned, etc…)

  • Perform daily rounds to track room utilization.

    Additional Duties

  • Assist custodial staff with house cleaning/disinfecting when required.

  • Submit maintenance concerns accurately and promptly.

  • Report damages and emergency situations promptly.

  • Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings to reviewing event details and discuss relevant logistical matters.

  • Provides exemplary customer services by responding to requests in professional and timely manner and displaying a positive demeanor.

  • Participate in all other training required by funding source(s) and/or the Corporation.

  • Assist in lifting and/or moving 50lbs, carrying and moving luggage, boxes, furniture, and other similar items.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s )

  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospitality or related industry preferred.

  • Customer service oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Work well independently and as a contributing member of a team.

  • High level of integrity and personal accountability.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to define problems and provide solutions.

  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines on a daily basis.

  • Maintain a high level of performance with limited supervision.

    Supervision Received General Supervision: The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.
