The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the direction of a Physical Therapist, treats injury, disease, and other conditions of health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows plan of care as developed by physical therapist employing physical therapy modalities, procedures and interventions.

• Schedules patients. Maintains written and verbal communication regarding patient and departmental concerns, and submits accurate billing information

• Participates in rotations in all clinical areas

• Participates in teaching, including PCA training

• Participates as a clinical instructor for students

• Promotes and contributes to all sanitary and housekeeping policies which are designed to maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all clinic and general staff areas

• Participates with the department quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy - required

• Acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience - preferred

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire - required

• PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant Upon Hire - required
