Oracle Data Center Security Systems Director in Albany, New York

Job Description

**Role is onsite @ Abilene, TX, USA.

The Global Physical Security (GPS) Data Center Systems Team manages technology enabling the GPS Operations Data Center Team to provide physical protection to Data Center property, assets, and infrastructure. Oracle utilizes internally owned Data Center locations and third-party external Data Centers managed by Co-Location service providers.

Oracle is seeking a highly experienced and multi-talented Director of Data Center Security Systems to join our team. This new position will be responsible for project oversight of the current Data Center implementation, development and management of a dedicated team supporting the production Data Center Security Systems located in Abilene, TX, USA. Initial focus will be the construction and development of the in-house support team, developing an internal Service Desk and production of related Security Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

The qualified candidate will report directly to the Director of Global Data Center Security Systems who is based in the UK. Periodic regional travel may be required. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role that has no direct reports but will have oversight of a larger contracted security systems staff within their scope of responsibility.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide operational direction and oversight so that the GPS strategic initiatives, in relation to the Data Center operational security program, are maintained consistently. These initiatives include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the Data Center Security Systems Support Team, including the sourcing of appropriate contracted staff.

  • Provides Project Management services as required, liaising closely with the implementation team. Providing oversight to senior management, attending progress meetings, taking a hands-on approach to project delivery.

  • Provides mentoring, development, and guidance the Data Center Systems Support Team members.

  • Provides monthly service ticket statistical data and analysis thereof.

  • Meets customer service financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing the annual service, and operating budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Also includes the processing of vendor invoicing and payment plans.

  • Works closely with cross functional support teams to ensure that service is compliant with all requirements.

  • Provides technical support for Lenel Access Control and CCTV, Key management, and all other technical systems as required.

  • Partners with Oracle Lines of Business and external audit regulatory bodies to ensure physical security compliance with diverse auditory requirements; including, but not limited, to SSAE 18, ISO, and PCI.

  • Customer Service - providing quality advice to Oracle employees on all aspects of Physical Security as it applies to Data Center security.

Working with 3 rd party security service providers to maintain global oversight for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development and retention of high caliber security systems and technical support staff.

  • Maintains recognized industry standard physical and technical security best practices by ensuring a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; ensures that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs additional functions as directed by the Director of GPS Global Data Center Security Systems as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFCATIONS NEEDED:

Managerial:

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience within the Security Systems industry needed. Will have gained extensive management experience within Corporate Data Center environments.

  • Lives within 1-hour of Abilene, TX- role is onsite in Abilene, TX.

  • Highly skilled in technical delivery, project management and team management – will have ideally gained experience in installation, support, and maintenance disciplines.

  • Possesses a proven track record in both Security Systems Service and Support Management.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role successfully managing Physical Security Systems within Corporate Data Center environments, providing team leadership, mentoring and management.

  • Must be self-motivated and innovative, but equally comfortable working within a team or alone and requiring minimal supervision.

  • Must be a team player, ideally with global exposure to working with individuals from different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to communicate and articulate with a high level of proficiency in both the written and verbal format at all levels, up to and including Corporate Executive leadership.

Technical:

  • Strong understanding of industry specific service and compliance requirements as they apply to physical security systems in general and specific to Data Center Security Systems.

  • Proven background in the delivery of Data Center physical security projects.

  • Detailed knowledge of Lenel OnGuard, Milestone IP CCTV and AXIS CCTV solutions is absolute.

  • Exposure to Intruder Alarm Systems and additional Access Control Systems, Biometric solutions and locking hardware are extremely desirable.

  • Thorough understand of Lenel + Milestone programming techniques – possessing a high depth of experience in deploying and supporting systems into Security Operational Centers (SOC’s).

  • Will have gained experience in delivery and management of technical solutions in highly complex and demanding environments.

  • Highly proficient with all basic Microsoft computer software programs and communications techniques.

  • Oversees constant Alarm Reduction and System Health Check programs.

  • Oversees System upgrade and enhancement programs.

  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems

  • Detailed working knowledge of IT networks - LAN/WAN, Intranet/Internet, Firewalls

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing & Spreadsheet skills are absolutely required.

  • Professional Associations within Security Industry such as ASIS Membership & CPP Licenses are desirable but not required.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY, IMPACT OF DECISIONS AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:

  • The Data Center Security Systems Director’s scope of responsibility will be regional in nature.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role requiring minimal direct supervision, supporting a locally contracted team, and carries a high degree of responsibility and operational impact on the business function. The qualified candidate will report directly to the GPS Director of Global Data Center Security Systems, who is based in the UK.

PROCESSES AND METHODOLOGY USED TO PERFORM JOB:

This position will lead collaborative teams and resources to successful performance. Conduct analysis of business needs and identify programs & services required to meet those needs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Physically located onsite @ Abilene, TX, USA

  • Ability to show experience in above required essential functions is mandatory.

  • BS/BA Degree highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Lenel and Milestone certifications are expected.

  • Additional industry certifications are highly desirable, but not absolutely required.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
