AnthroMed Education Speech Language Pathologist in Acton, Massachusetts

Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Location:  Acton, MA, 01720

Employment Type: Part-Time (3 days per week) – On site

Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Flexible on days worked) 

Dates: ASAP through June 18th, 2024 

AnthroMed is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Acton, MA. This part-time position is available 3 days per week, with flexibility on the specific days worked. The SLP will work onsite at a Collaborative Therapeutic Day High School, and support students with a variety of complex needs. This school serves adolescents whose educational needs have not been met in a traditional high school setting. The goal is to empower students to self-regulate their behaviors in all developmental domains, including academics, emotional regulation, relationships, interpersonal skills, life skills, and vocational/career development. The school offers small class sizes (6-10 students), individualized instruction, and appropriate modifications and accommodations to meet the needs of students with multiple disabilities, including emotional challenges that may interfere with their learning. Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language services to students with a wide range of disabilities, including complex communication needs and multiple disabilities.

  • Implement and monitor AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems and assist students in developing communication skills using these tools.

  • Conduct assessments, develop, and deliver individualized therapy plans for students based on their unique communication needs.

  • Assist with social skills development and support students in improving their communication in both academic and social settings.

    Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

  • AAC experience is required, including familiarity with a variety of AAC systems and tools.

  • Previous experience working with students with higher needs, including those with multiple disabilities and complex communication needs.

  • Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to working with students with diverse abilities.
